I love my smartphone. For a long time, I thought that putting all of my eggs into a single basket—combining my phone, music player, address book, schedule and email into a single device—was too risky. But once I gave it a shot, I realized how much easier it was to keep track of one device in one pocket instead of four devices in four pockets. I could move seamlessly from listening to music to answering a call, and read an old email in the process.
But the best part is what it’s done for my reading list.
Thanks to my smartphone, when a friend, family member or coworker mentions a book or movie that sounds interesting, I can make a note right away. And now, thanks to BPL’s mobile site, I can look up the book and place it on hold at my neighborhood library from wherever and whenever I’d like.
Just visit m.brooklynpubliclibrary.org for access to our complete catalog. You can also stay up-to-date on upcoming events, check out the full range of BPL blogs and follow our latest posts on Twitter and Facebook—all specially designed for speed and accessibility on mobile devices.
Seriously, I don’t know why I waited so long to start using these things.
