There’s a slight chill in the air, but don't hide from the colder weather just yet! There are still some great outdoor events in Brooklyn before the threat of snow looms.
On Saturday, September 27, Halloween comes early at Bay Ridge’s annual Ragamuffin Parade. Channeling true ragamuffins—shabbily-dressed children—kids march on Third Avenue dressed in everything from raggedy clothes to superhero costumes. This entertaining parade begins at 1 PM and stretches between 72nd and 96th Street. Don’t forget, Bay Ridge Library is just one block away from the parade route. Stop by to visit us!
The next day, the Third Avenue Festival kicks off in the same area with live music, activities for kids and legendary food.
Hop over to an entirely different neighborhood for Atlantic Antic on Sunday, October 5. This day of funnel cakes, baklava, live music, pony rides for the kids and so much more is from 10 AM to 6 PM, on Atlantic Avenue from Hicks Street to Fourth Avenue. We’ve heard that the new Trader Joe’s in Brooklyn opens today at Court Street and Atlantic, so why not stop by to stock up on healthy fare after your festival indulgences?
