Chip Off the Old Block (Party)

Summer is coming, and if that's not enough good news for you, BPL's Central Library is hosting a Block Party to get it started right. On Thursday, June 4, come to sign up for our summer reading program and a library card, and stay for the free entertainment all day long, including live performances by Care Bears on Fire and a special appearance by Brooklyn's own teen pop star, Lil Mama. This kid-friendly event also features face painting, hopscotch, eco-friendly arts and crafts by Habana Outpost, balloon sculptures, and more!

·         10-11AM: Louie Miranda from Jerry Joy Music hosts musical storytelling for kids
·         11:15-11:45AM: Teen pop sensation Lil Mama talks, take pictures and signs autographs
·         11:30AM-12PM: Ringling Brothers perform
·         12-1PM: Lost in the Stacks, BPL’s band, performs
·         1:15- 2PM: KIPP AMP Academy's Capoiera team shows off its moves
·         2:15- 3PM: Calpulli Mexican Dance Company performs
·         3:30-4:30PM: Care Bears on Fire perform  

You can also sign up for summer reading or a library card online all summer long, but entertainment is not included
