Sure, you’ve seen the everyday happenings at Central Library, but what’s going on behind the scenes? On October 10 and 11, we’re offering a glimpse of all that you’ve been missing. It’s part of the Annual Open House New York Weekend, a celebration of the city’s prominent architecture and design.

Your tour guides, who know every nook and cranny of Central Library, will show you the public and underground stacks; our Executive Director’s office; the Hunt Collection of Children’s Literature, featuring rare first and limited edition books; and the Brooklyn Daily Eagle Morgue, which houses clippings of this historic local newspaper from 1903 to 1955. There will also be a special reading by Central Library staff of children’s book Iggy Peck, Architect.

The tours run from 3 to 4 PM. Register for your spot today, as the tours are filling up quickly! You can do so by calling 718.230.2198 or emailing c.hayes@brooklynpubliclibrary.org.
