If you’ve searched our online catalog for a book or DVD in the last week, you’ve probably noticed it has a great new look. But it’s more than just a pretty face. The catalog is easier to use, and it’s got some cool new features, including:


  • Freeze a hold: If you won’t be able to pick up a hold that is about to be available (say you’re going on vacation), you can freeze it and not lose your place in line


  • Number of holds is shown alongside number of copies: Get an idea of how long you’ll have to wait for that new bestseller


  • Rate the books you’ve read (up to 5 stars!)


  • Reading History: Keep track of the books you’ve checked out


  • Pay fines and fees securely online: Use your credit or debit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover)


  • Search in more languages: Russian, Chinese, French, Spanish and English!

Why doesn't it say if there are any holds on the books that you have out so that you'll know if you won't be able to renew it?

Hi Susan-
the catalog should tell you that the book is on hold and not renewable. You will see a red "on hold" note under the status column next to that title if it is, in fact, on hold.

If you are not seeing this message, the title should be renewable.
