Weekend Lowdown: I Can’t Stand the Rain

After our brief spring interval, the rain returns with a vengeance this weekend, and that means it’s a great opportunity to check out indoor events at BPL.

Into modern art? Attend a free MoMA talk on Monet’s water lily paintings this Saturday at Kings Highway Library.

If you’re in a literary state-of-mind, there are several events to choose from on Saturday: Russian Literary Club (Homecrest Library), Book Swap (Carroll Gardens Library), and Poetry Group (Kings Highway Library).

Are you a new (or lazy) pet owner? Get your dog or cat spayed or neutered for free or low cost at the ASPCA mobile van (Arlington Library).

At the Dweck on Sunday, you can hear a fascinating account of Mercy Otis Warren, a playwright and the first female historian of the American Revolution. Things get musical later in the day with Trio Cavatina, part of the Classical Interludes series.

And if you’re feeling too job-stressed to relax, testing for 2010 Census jobs is happening at several neighborhood libraries.

Whatever you’re into, now you don’t have an excuse to mope around the house this weekend!
