New York Fashion Week may be a few months away, but you don’t have to wait until September to get your dose of fashion flare. From May 7 through August 1, Brooklyn Museum will host American High Style: Fashioning a National Collection.
This ode to women's fashion will include pieces from both American designers and those that have greatly influenced American design such as Bonnie Cashin and Christian Dior. Each article of clothing on exhibit is hand-picked from the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
And while you're in the neighborhood, be sure to stop by Brooklyn Public Library to visit our extensive collection of books about fashion and design. Catch it while you can, because like Tim Gunn says, one day you're in and the next day you’re out!
