So you’ve finally tapped into that time off you’ve been saving and now you’re bored? Luckily, it’s a big month at Central Library. Check out some of the exciting June events:

June 2, Second Floor Meeting Room: Don’t go for broke! Come to a Growing Dollars and Sense workshop at 6 PM to learn how to make the most of your money through banking and investing. This is one of many events; visit our website for more.

June 10, Plaza: Meet Maria from Sesame Street! Surely that name brings up some fond memories. She’ll be at the kickoff of Summer Reading 2010 at 11 AM. You can also enjoy live music on the Plaza and sign up for Summer Reading, which features reading recommendations, free events and the chance to earn prizes.

June 17 & 24, Plaza: Learn to swing dance! At 6:30 PM, get lessons from instructor Eve Polich. Then, at 7 PM, Paul Shapiro’s Ribs and Brisket Revue performs hard-swinging jump blues with Yiddish flavoring. This Swing Series continues through the summer on Thursdays.

June 30, Brooklyn Collection: Grab a cold one! Come at 6:30 PM to sample some of the best local beers and get an in-depth look at how the beverage has played a pivotal role in the history of Brooklyn. Please RSVP by calling 718.230.2723. Seating is limited, so call today!
